Pepperell CPC votes to send amended warrant article to board

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of March 5, 2026

Pepperell Community Preservation Committee unanimously advances warrant article to Select Board for May town meeting. Members renamed one account to "open space/recreation" after rejecting a plan to split funding into fixed shares for recreation and conservation, saying that would require state approval. No money is being pulled from the recreation account this cycle, leaving $28,793 in reserve for next year.

A member reported resolving a $7,500 budget discrepancy with the town treasurer, saying "it turned out that $7,500 was from the lighting" related to library expenses. At-large representative Kathy Preece, on the committee since its founding, welcomed incoming secretary Victoria "Max" Gordon. The committee's next application window opens in September, and it set its next meeting for April 30.
