Pepperell Planning Board approves Bavin Landscaping site plan with lighting condition

PEPPERELL — July 20, 2020 — Pepperell Planning Board unanimously approved a major site plan for Bavin Landscaping at 23-29 Hollis Street and endorsed an approval-not-required subdivision plan for 27 Shirley Street at its July 20 remote meeting. The board conditioned the Bavin Landscaping approval on the applicant submitting manufacturer cut sheets for wall-mounted lighting fixtures at the rear of the property, which abuts residential neighbors, for review by staff. Board member Al, who moved both the site plan and the ANR approvals, narrowed the lighting condition to rear fixtures specifically, noting that sign lighting will be reviewed separately through the sign permit process. The board also heard that at least one application has been received to fill a current vacancy, with a joint appointment meeting with the Select Board targeted before a public hearing tentatively set for August 31. Separately, planning administrative duties are shifting from staff member Brynn to Cheryl, the Zoning Board assistant, and Joan, the assistant town clerk, who will also work through approximately six months of backlogged minutes.
