Pepperell Selectmen Approve All-Alcohol License for Dolce Brands Restaurant

PEPPERELL — August 8, 2011 — Pepperell selectmen approve all-alcohol license for Dolce Brands and expand senior transit at no new cost. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Monday to grant Dolce Brands, LLC — the restaurant at 105 Main Street formerly operating as Dario's — an all-alcohol on-premises license, upgrading from a malt-and-beer license, with outdoor seasonal seating incorporated into the license pending a complete application submission. The board also authorized a letter to the Lowell Regional Transit Authority formalizing an already-agreed expansion of Roadrunner bus service for Pepperell seniors, funded at $16,000 annually off the cherry sheet with no new appropriation. Town Accountant Gene reported the town is on track to return approximately $250,000 in unspent funds for fiscal year 2011, exceeding a $200,000 target, with a one-time $90,000 state aid uptick also in play; the board voted to have Gene report directly to Town Administrator John through December 31 to accelerate free-cash certification ahead of the fall town meeting. Greg Rice, chair of the Board of Public Works, warned that sewer rate increases are not finished despite the sewer enterprise fund posting a $90,000 net gain, with 2012 and 2013 identified as peak debt years.
