Pepperell Selectmen Unanimously Appoint Nashoba Valley Tech Alternate Member

PEPPERELL — February 6, 2020 — Pepperell selectmen filled a two-year-old vacancy Thursday, unanimously appointing Janet Young as the alternate member of the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District Committee. The seat opened in 2018 when Al Buckley resigned and Mike Morgan was promoted from alternate to full member, leaving the alternate position unfilled. Young, a Pepperell resident of nearly 20 years with four children who attended Nashoba Valley, said she had previously served roughly three terms on the school committee before stepping away to care for a family member. The appointment runs through March 31, 2022. Young was the only candidate considered, and board members offered unanimous support before voting to approve, noting that alternates attend every district meeting and step in as voting members when a full member is absent.
