Pepperell Selectmen Unanimously Approve Peter Fitzpatrick Community Center Management Deal

PEPPERELL — January 27, 2020 — Pepperell selectmen unanimously approve a management agreement for the Peter Fitzpatrick Community Center. The board voted 3-0 Monday to sign a 32-month contract with the Fitzpatrick Collaborative, locking in the town's current $107,000 annual contribution for fiscal year 2021 and establishing a sliding revenue-return structure under which the collaborative will begin paying $1,000 per month in rent after one year and an initial $40,000 annual "tithing" — growing 15 percent per year — after two years. State Senator John Kennedy and state Representative Sheila Harrington attended the meeting and asked the board to consider short-term cooperative maintenance of the Nashua River Rail Trail's Pepperell segment while state and federal reconstruction funding is pursued, citing safety hazards including sinkholes and root-erupted pavement. The board also unanimously appointed artist Dan Quinton, a 38-year Pepperell resident, to the Pepperell Cultural Council through June 2023, and publicly presented an annual performance evaluation of Town Administrator Andrew Clymer in which all eight scoring categories received the maximum score of 8 out of 8.
