CPC closes FY27 hearing, sets application calendar

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026

Pepperell's Community Preservation Committee closed its annual public hearing projecting about $494,000 available for fiscal year 2027 grants, opening the meeting without a quorum and no residents yet present. The presenter, consistent with Chair Bob Cataldo's role, said the panel is again using a conservative revenue estimate of $240,000 against a town accountant projection of roughly $260,000 to $270,000, noting the town has approved "about $787,000" in Community Preservation Act funding to date. Eligibility applications open October 1 and are due October 23, with presentations set for December 16 and 17 as in the prior cycle.

"I would highly suggest that people not try to fill out the application form before October 1st," the presenter said, citing revised instructions still being finalized. Members also reviewed completed work on the town's baseball field backstop and a library stonework project, and closed the hearing on a unanimous voice vote before adjourning at 7:06 p.m.
