Pepperell Conservation Commission Clears Townsend Street Septic and Garage Project

PEPPERELL — June 17, 2025 — Pepperell Conservation Commission issues negative determination for Townsend Street septic project. The commission voted unanimously at its June 17 meeting to issue a Negative Determination of Applicability for a proposed six-bedroom septic system replacement and garage addition at 120 Townsend Street, owned by Scott Baker, finding the work will not alter resource areas protected under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act despite roughly 30 percent of the project falling within the 100-foot wetland buffer zone. All construction is outside the 50-foot buffer, and the commission's agent will inspect erosion controls before work begins. The board also ratified an emergency certification issued by the Board of Health for beaver-and-muskrat flooding at 17 Bohatton Road and approved $745 in annual dues to the Nashua River Watershed Association and the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions. The commission briefly acknowledged the departure of member Stewart, who will not be returning for another term.
