Council on Aging · Meeting of October 27, 2026

PEPPERELL — The Pepperell Council on Aging continued its senior center logo decision and draft board regulations to December 1 after lengthy discussion. Director Bethany Loveless reported the Albert Harris Senior Center logged 2,141 event sign-ins and served 666 meals in September, and that the Friends group spent $4,500 on floor and wall cleaning. The board voted unanimously to refine two logo finalists, numbered one and three, debating red versus black lettering and whether to include decorative bushes near the building graphic.

Secretary Joanna Reagan reported on an October 1 regional conference in Groton that informed draft attendance rules, which would make six absences in a year grounds for "automatic dismissal from the council except for extenuating circumstances." Loveless said the town now centralizes the center's utility payments, pushing that budget line to 100 percent spent, while the discretionary budget sat at 21 percent spent against 33 percent of the fiscal year elapsed. The board set an informal, non-quorum work session for November 24 to continue reviewing the regulations.
