Conservation Commission approves order of conditions for airport-area warehouse complex
PEPPERELL — March 12, 2024 — Pepperell Conservation Commission unanimously approves order of conditions for a two-building commercial warehouse complex near the town's airport. The commission voted Tuesday to issue the order for the 149-163 National Road project, which has been before the board since November 2023, following a planning board site-plan approval that included a peer review of traffic and stormwater by Tyne and Bond consultants. Engineer Matt Waterman of Land Tech Consultants told the board that two open detention basins have been eliminated or converted to subsurface infiltration systems since the last hearing, and that required soil permeability testing is set to begin this week. Conservation Agent Paula said a condition will bar construction from starting until MEPA review is complete. In a separate unanimous vote, the commission authorized inclusion of the Kies Parker conservation property in the Pollinator Pathways program, a nonprofit native-plant mapping network now active in 300 towns, with a public launch planned for an April 13 Earth Day event at the Pepperell library.
