Conservation Commission Clears Sherry Street Garage, Advances River Road Easement Revisions

PEPPERELL — May 7, 2019 — Pepperell Conservation Commission approves garage near stream, orders River Road plan revisions at May 7 meeting. The commission unanimously issued a negative determination for a proposed equipment garage at 94 Sherry Street, finding the structure — proposed 77 feet from an intermittent stream buffer edge — would not alter a protected resource area; the application was presented by Jack Krasinski of Cornerstone Land Consultants, who owns the property. In a lengthy discussion of a River Road right-of-way relocation tied to a residential Open Space Residential Development, the commission secured agreement from a developer's representative to revise the survey plan to label Pebble Pond as the Nashua River, add plan notes identifying the C1 path as a relocation of the 1982 Kemp deed right-of-way, and widen the depicted corridor to 66 feet at the old railroad bed. The commission also voted unanimously to spend $1,800 — the lower of two bids, with Avery Associates quoting $3,500 — on an appraisal of a 10-acre landlocked Wheeler Street parcel for a potential charitable donation, funding the work from the town's wetlands account.
