Conservation Commission Issues Order of Conditions for Shirley Street Common Driveway Project
PEPPERELL — October 23, 2018 — Pepperell Conservation Commission issues Order of Conditions for a common driveway project at 34 Shirley Street. The commission voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the order for applicants Michael and Donna Quintel after the project engineer presented revisions including a three-foot driveway realignment away from a wetland boundary, a relocated mailbox pull-out, documented snow storage areas, and a plan to connect the site to a municipal water line from Shirley Street rather than rely on individual wells. Large embedded boulders will mark the 50-foot wetland setback at driveway curves to physically limit plow encroachment into the buffer. The commission also discussed a DEP adjudicatory appeal related to the separate Birch Drive Extension project — a process a member estimated would take nine months to a year — and informally agreed on signage language for a new canoe and kayak launch site on River Road, favoring a metal sign reading "Town of Pepperell Canoe Kayak Launch."
