Pepperell Conservation Commission approves five land-use orders at January meeting

PEPPERELL — January 3, 2017 — Pepperell Conservation Commission issues five unanimous orders at its first meeting of 2017. The board approved orders of conditions for a garage addition at 30-32 Dow Street for Kurt Gere, single-family homes on adjacent Thomas Street lots for George Kyes and Dorothy Kyes, and a commercial Dunkin' Donuts redevelopment at 61-63 Main Street for Catalano Companies — the last after two prior continuances — plus a negative determination for a failed septic replacement at 71 Mount Orman Street using a Presby alternative system that reduced the required leaching footprint by 40 percent to squeeze between a garage and a 50-foot wetland buffer. The commission also approved a wetland resource area delineation for a 55-acre parcel at 25-33 Pierce Street where developer Peter Montesanti told his consultant he hopes to file subdivision plans by early April. A Notice of Intent for an earthen berm extension at R.H. Wilson's auto salvage yard at 44 North Street was continued to February 7 pending DEP and Natural Heritage comments; the applicant noted the Nissitissit River was removed from the state's 303D impaired-waterways list on the day of the meeting.
