Pepperell Conservation Commission accepts Brookline Street parcel, issues Hollis Street tree order

PEPPERELL — December 13, 2022 — Pepperell Conservation Commission accepts Brookline Street conservation parcel and issues tree-clearing order. The commission voted unanimously at its December 13 meeting to accept a deed conveying 189 Brookline Street from 189 Brookline Pepperell Realty Trust to the town, to be held for conservation purposes — a transaction members described as a long time coming. The board also unanimously issued an order of conditions for a narrowed Notice of Intent filed by Babin Landscaping at 23 Hollis Street, authorizing hazardous tree removal and pruning along the easterly property line under terms requiring dual blue field markings on each tree designated for cutting, separate tree counts for removals and pruning, and a staff site visit before work begins; engineer Jack Visnuski of JA Visnuski LLC confirmed all previously proposed drainage changes have been dropped from the project. A separate matter at Chamber Way — under an enforcement order since April 1, 2022 — produced no action after the applicant's attorney requested yet another continuance, citing the absence of engineering materials.
